Today brought us repeated calls about abandoned kittens in a single neighborhood that were saved at the last minute thanks to the sensitivity of our fellow human beings. Today, two young children delivered to us a kitten that they rescued from a garbage can in the area of Agia Varvara. Yesterday evening, the fire department handed over 4 kittens that they rescued from a clothes recycling bin to the 1st Primary School of Tripoli. We are expecting but 2 kittens found in bins in the same area. These animals were not simply thrown away. They were condemned, since the survival of newborn animals away from their mother is doubtful. We feed every two hours with a syringe with a very doubtful outcome. Abandoning an animal that can be maintained to some extent is a criminal act. Depriving a dependent organism of its chance to survive? Kudos to our fellow citizens who make sure to complete their crime by throwing the receipts in the trash cans.
